Collection: Claudiane Rooryck
Born January 7, 1944 in Paris XIV Studies: Bac Sciences then studies in medical biology Several years of work in the laboratory then work in the pharmaceutical industry for the development of clinical nutrition products. She ended her career as commercial director of the nutrition branch of a large international group. The relationship of biology with drawing and painting? Undoubtedly the interest that Caudiane Roorych has for observation and the manual skill necessary in manipulations. She is also very interested in all things human. She likes to make portraits, scenes of life, movement, whatever the subject, it must be ''inhabited''.
His great-grandfather and his grandfather were metal engravers. His father spent his spare time drawing and visiting museums. She worked a lot with him until she entered the working world. When she retired, she was led, somewhat by chance, to train as a restorer of old paintings; training provided by an Artist approved by the Fine Arts. At that moment, she wanted me to get back to drawing and painting.
For fifteen years Claudiane Roorych has participated in numerous exhibitions in the region, she has received numerous prizes. (Prize of the public, the general council, the jury…) She was invited to make a personal exhibition in Livry-Gargan and in 2015 she exhibited at the Parc des Capucins in Coulommiers.
She received the Silver Medal of Arts, Sciences and Letters in 2016 and the Gold Medal of the European Society of Contemporary Arts in 2018 .
Above all, she loves the light that transforms and gives life to any subject. She doesn't really have a philosophy, she likes to communicate; Movement and light are his pictorial concerns. She also does theatre, another form of communication. She is very eclectic when it comes to her artist preferences. She loves the Impressionists for light, Art Nouveau for drawing, Degas and Toulouse Lautrec for life and movement, Van Gogh for color and tormented forms, Turner for changing mists, Rodin for strength and movement. … Many Modern Artists also touch her, but it is most often a work that speaks to her rather than the totality of their work. It is difficult for her to say what she prefers: it is first of all an immediate attraction, a crush, which makes her stop in front of a work and try to detail it to understand what it means to her. evoked.
As far as he is concerned, she does not seek to have a style, she does not seek to impose her drawing on the subject, she rather chooses her subject When she feels what he is going to bring her to try to do, it's him who's ordering. She prefers everything that lives: eyes that shine, characters that dance or work…. She works in oil on canvas or sometimes on wood, she likes warm colors. She sometimes textures the background to give it a little more life. She only uses long-lasting products: her paintings must not 'age' (motivation probably due to her training as a restorer)
She doesn't really have a ''message'', her paintings are pieces of life, Claudiane Roorych would simply like to bring a little light to the spectators
